Pure Protein bar??
Are they good? I love chocolate and peanut butter... but I tried a chocolate peanut butter swirl protein shake from Spiru-tein and it is so bad I can hardly stand it. I'd love to find some protein bars that taste good and that I can handle. How much are they at Walmart? Can you buy them individually or only in a case?
I am very sensitive to sugar alcohols. Intestinally.
They cause painful gas.
Eating too much can have a laxative effect. I may have heard of a few RNYers dumping from sugar alcohols. Not too many though.
I refuse to eat the pure protein or the Oh yeah! bars because of the sugar alcohols. Waaayyy too sensitive and not a fan of gas. I like the power crunch bars, but they are kinda high fat, might not be appropriate for all surgery types. I love em straight out of the fridge. Haven't tried them frozen yet. I'll try that tomorrow.

I see a lot of them with a lot of fat. The Oh Yeah have too much fat for my diet. If I eat one of those, that is about half of my daily calories and over half of my fat for the day. I can only eat about 1/3 of it at a time anyway though.
I'm not a fan of gas either... it can be really painful! There aren't too many things I can't eat though... brocolli and more than a couple bites of frozen yogurt (and ice cream too I am sure). Pretty much everything else I have tried I CAN eat... but most of it I don't just because I need to save room for my protein. Precious space in my tummy. Fortunately I am making better choices and it is really paying off.
