I am sad for OH and the turns it has made
My personal opinion on this (no doubt others will strongly disagree with me :-) is that some of these "altercations" might be lessened if there was more of a moderator presence on the boards--they would probably be a good choice for deciding when someone is speaking out of place becaues they would be working (or volunteering) for OH. (I realize that this may not be practical nor financially desirable for OH, I'm just stating that my opinion is that this is something that would be nice, from my perspective, on the boards).
I'm thinking of one site (has nothing to do with weight loss) in which I participate where moderators are very active. They edit or even delete posts when necessary and I have to say, this really kept a lot of the craziness that plagues most online communities down to a minimum. (There is no such thing as a Rants N Rave page on that message board--things just don't get that far). The terms of service or TOS on that board are spelled out clearly and all new members are forced to read it (or scroll through it, LOL), and must click "yes" to agree to the TOS before they can even post-. I once inadvertently said something on that board that was against the TOS, and I was very rightly edited by a moderator. I was glad that it was done -- I felt like the mods really cared about maintaining the boards.)
ANOTHER huge thing that I think would make things a little easier on EVERYONE who lurks/posts on the Forums is an FAQ/sticky post message IN the forums themselves (as opposed to just the information page at the general info page for each procedure--i.e. on the RNY forum landing page). I can imagine that the veterans here on OH get really tired of posting the same info every day--but they do it and what it credit it is to them that they do. However, it is important for the newbies to have said information, even if it is a PITA for long-time members to post them. Providing a link to FAQ's or sticky posts might be a nice way to minimize repetitive questions and answer--it certainly helped a lot on the other bulletin board which I was talking about above.
All that said, I have NOT read the post in question, so I am only speaking very generally.
Which post was it anyway, can someone "show" me" (meantime I am going to see if I can find it myself).

Yeah. That didn't work out very well in past years, and that's all I'll say about that.

Like I said I was speaking the way I felt.
And its is entirely up to you to read or not agree or not.
I think that we as "intelligent women" should not resort to name calling as a way to get our points across.
And I think a PP said it correctly when they said this place is a place where the only medical care some get is from here,so I ask why would we do anything to chase them away?
one poster said we are equal on here....I disagree we are not equal as the poster I am refering to has shown everyone. Our quality of care is indeed different and our methods of communiccations are definatly different.
We are all indeed different individuals and you can not assume because you have a tough skin and will tolerat being called names and derogatory remarks that others will feel as you.
This is the internet however, its not like a YAHOO chatroom we are and should be in a place of more tolerance. Some are not here for fun and games they are here for real help and advise.
I am not the know all and see all of the OH forums this is my opinion and mine alone.
If you want to block me ok......It's your choice.
I say this because mean hateful words do chase people seeking help away, not everyone has such a harsh personality and handles harsh remarks the same.
I am pretty positive that chasing people away is not the intention of anyone on this board.
I am asking that we consider the different personalities on here. If someone asks you not talk to them in a certain way please respect that.
To go into a surgery that can kill you if you don't know the importance of protein is the definition of insanity.
++Without enough protein, your body will break down your internal organs(YOUR HEART) and you will die. Period. End of story.
I refuse to believe her surgeon didn't tell her. PERIOD.
My point is everybody has different personalities and not everybody is gonna play nice. And fortunately, OH doesn't legislate that. IF someone is offended, USE THE BLOCK BUTTON. If someone doesn't want to see "vulgar" language, take the adult settings off. Everybody has rights here...those you like, and those you don't.
Updated since I had my baby....280(highest pregnant)/245(current)/140 still is my goal and I know I can do it!!!
