When you poop that is. I mean I rarely go now, like once a week. But I'm never satisfied, EVER! I always feel like I'm not done! I know everybody's different, but I do wanna hear if I'm alone on this one. Today I took 3 colace and now I'm just waiting. I want to feel done!!!

Since a few of you expressed this - and I've only been constipated since I had plastic surgery a few weeks ago and the pain meds are messing with me - I have not been constipated one day since my WLS because of one simple thing - beans.....I eat beans and whole grains everyday - in the early weeks/months - it was refried beans - once I was able to toerate them - whole beans in things like chili and lentil stew etc. - I eat beans everyday - I've not been anemic (again - only since I had plastics and thats because I lost a lot of blood during the procedure) and I run no nutrient deficiencies except biotin and Vit D.     I'm miserable for the last few days so if this was a permanent feature of life postop I would hate it - that being said - beans beans beans...and oddly - preop - beans used to make me unbelievably gassy and uncomfortable - and postop - not.....not at all in fact....Susan

Hate to ruin your theory, but I eat beans ALMOST every day myself (in my homemade turkey chili), and I also suffer from the constipation monster.  LOL

Just goes to show... we're all unique and on our own personal journies together!

Wow, sorry you're experiencing that (both of you!) I've had times where I was constipated, and I knew I had to do better with the water, but when I do go, it's all good. No problems there. Perhaps this is a questions for your surgeon or your regular doctor.

Good luck - I hope it gets better!

Hey Girl, I remember feeling the same way. But remember, you are not taking in as much as you used to. So there is less to come out. Also, I think being "regular" might be a thing of the past... there is nothing too regular about our new anatomy. I remember feeling a bit consitpated at times but more water usually helped and sometimes some oatmeal. It all works out though. And now I go probably several times a day in small amts as it goes through the system I guess. And it's unpredictable so my 2 cents is to just go with the flow.  Take it easy, don't worry, and just do one day at a time -- let it be what it is. Be happy!!! Love ya!!!

Hey, think about going to the OH San Ramon event! Check it out. I already bought my ticket - with the discount code you can get it for a percent off. It's just one day and pretty close to you so it might be a good day trip for you to take, AND we could meet in person!!!

I never think about these events. What do they do?

I find it is hard to get complete relief. I had surgery 4 months ago. Stool softeners help and drink more water. Youhave to realize that most of the fiber is out of your diet so things just don't work as well as they use to.
