I have a UTI and the Dr. said to push the Cranberry Juice.  I see online there's an 'diet' or SF alternative.  Anyone had any tummy upset with this??  (I'm 17 months out from RNY)

TIA!

I am almost 7 mts out and drink the regular with no problems but there are diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice out there. I also enjoy the Cranenergy drinks too. They are low in sugar but it has green tea and white grape juice so not sure it will help with your problem. Good luck

Hi, I drink the diet cranberry juice.  The cranberry juice ****tail is not the same thing as the cranberry juice.  My dr. recommends the pure cranberry juice.  I hope you get feeling better.  There are also cranberry pills that you can take.  I don't dump, so I take these regularly.

I drink regular cranberry juice mixed half and half with water.  I can't drink it straight... too sweet!

Hey Sis!

You can also try taking the Cranberry pills (found in the nutrition or vitamin section).  You know that I get chronic, recurrent UTI's and my doctor (urologist) recommended I take this supplement.  Whether or not it helps, I don't know.  And no, it doesn't upset my stomach.  As a matter of fact, I think taking the pill form is easier on my stomach.  I take CranAssure, but there are many brands.

P.S.  see ya soon!

A Cochrane review of research showed that cranberry juice will help prevent UTIs, but will not help heal them. Cranberry pills (like you are taking) are the best source to get the mg you need. Most cranberry ****tails do not have enough juice in them.

i found this at walmart - it is ocean spray cranberry and different variations and it is like the crystal light tubs.  it contains 5 calories and makes a 2 quart pitcher.
