How long before getting a perm?
I had my surgery around the same time as you and my hair is incedibly dry and would not be good "perm material" AND it's falling out - a lot - thus making it not a good candidate for any chemicals. Has yours started falling out? The anesthesia is a consideration for any chemicals being put on your hair but I can't remember if it's before or after surgery that you have to watch out. Good luck!

I am a beautican and I recommend that you wait six months. Anestesia can stay in the hair for six months. I have done it after 3 months with no problems. However, if you are not losing any hair and getting in a fair amount of protein, I think it would be okay before the six months. I would recommend a shampoo that removes minerals and medications from your hair. Read the back of the bottle or it may not be the right kind. Go to a salon and ask to see some clarifying shampoos. Remember to use a good shampoo after the perm. Invest in good products it is well worth it. Ask about acid waves that are much more gentle on the hair. Good luck and email me if you have any questions. [email protected]
