Hi I had my gastric bypass on 04-14-09, it hasn't been an easy journey for me I had a few complications such as infection on my incision, anyway I have only lost 30lbs since my surgery  and basicaly just stoped, I know I have been very good at only consuming between 800 to 1200 calories a day, I also exercise alot, I burn at least 800 calories on the thread-mill and  lite weightlifting, so why I not loosing weight faster like all this people I read about, I know we are not all the same but I really think I am doing everything to loose it. I try so hard to keep a healthy diet, I don't dump and that makes it even harder for me, I am determined to loose it but I am kind of discourage right now. I have even regreted to have done the RNY and think I should have done the DS instead but I found out too late about it, the worst part is that I paid cash for the RNY and I could have had the DS instead.

Thanks for your help

are you drinking enough water, getting all your protein in and taking your vitamins? Are you eating alot of carbs? Protein is very important at this stage of the weight loss surgery. I haven't pass over to the loser bench yet. I just finally meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday then it goes to insurance for approval. So my time is ticking all in the hands of the insurance company. -

Hey Robin, thank you for taking the time to write to me. Yes I am drinking alot of water I do get very thirsty, I do try to take in at least 60grams of protein and no I am not taking alot of carbs,I don't have much time to cook a home cook meal so I buy those weigh****chers and healthy choice already made dinners boxes, they say they have about 320 calories per box and 20 grams of protein so I eat 3 of those boxes during the day and have water in between. I am not doing very well taking my vitamins though.

Good luck with your approval, let me know when you have a date!!!!!

Betty,

You have to be patient. Keep working the program and you will succeed. I had fits and starts of losing, then holding. When the long stalls came, I would get discouraged, but it always started back up again. How much and how fast you lose will also depend on how much weight you have to lose to begin with. I know I was "lucky" in a way because I had a LOT to lose, so the initial loss came quickly. Now it is very slow, but I'm still losing. You will, too. Keep the faith!

The length of the stalls varies. My first big one was at 310 pounds. I was stuck there for over a month! I thought I'd never get below 300 pounds, yet this morning I weighed in at 198!

This is just my opinion but I think that you may not be eating enough. If you are only eating 800 cals and you are burning that many calories exercising your net calories are 0!! Your body is probably in starvating mode because it has nothing to run itself on. I would double check with your nut or surgeon. My nut wants my net calories to be at 1000 per day
