When did you stop losing weight?

I am 8 months post-op.  I am stilling losing weight.  I have lost 137 pounds altogether, 117 since surgery.  I was wondering when to expect to stop losing weight.  It has slowed down quite a bit and I know everyone is different.  I just was wondering on average when most stopped losing weight.  Thank you.

I lost rapidly for 6 months and then slowly for the next 12.  I'm now losing again but it is conscious on my part as I want to get off the last pounds I never lost initially.

I lost slow but steady for 22 months. I lost a 100 lbs during that time. I am a lot older than you though. I think you're doing great! If you are at goal or close to goal (remember younger people have a tendency to lose faster and get to goal sooner) just try to add a few good calories (good carbs, not white flour carbs) back into your diet and the weight loss should ease up. Don't get too carried away! You don't want to start gaining, just stop any more weight loss. Maybe start with an extra piece of fruit or a few nuts. You'll be fine!

I lost 100 lbs in about 1 1/2 yrs...faster at first, slowed down, but consistant. it's been 6 1/2 yrs since RNY and I've maintained it off, anytime/everytime I gain a few pounds, i go back to the basics and lose. I love my RNY!

Good luck.

Wow that's really impressive, maintaining for 6 1/2 years.  That is great!  I look up to you for that and hope that I can do the same.  Thanks for the reply.

I stopped at six months.  Been about the same weight ever since.

one year post op.

I no longer have to worry about losing too much.

Now I eat resonably - and maintain without a lot of extra efford.

I lost most of mine in 8 months as well but I am 20 months out and have slowed down and staying about the same for the last month. I have added a bit more food to stop the loosing, but don't want to gain back either! I figured I would maybe go below goal a bit and then even out and that is what it looks like will happen. Good Luck!
