Our first anniversary, I got an Ice Scraper. And not just any old one. I got one with a huge scraper on one side, and the bristles on the other side and an adjustable handle because I am short and can never reach the middle of my windows.

Now that romance...............

(Actually, that's the recipe for going to bed alone, and not being spoke to for a few days!)

Honestly, I know I talk about things I like or want all the time in general conversation. It would be nice for him to just go get something that I mentioned. Pay attention to conversation and I PROMISE you a good idea. Us women are great "hint droppers"........LOL

Like someone else stated, women are about thoughtfulness and putting effort into something. It means WAY more than men realize. If I TELL my hubby exactly what to get me, it's boring. I could have just bought it for myself. I like the thought that he went out and found something on his own that he knew I liked or wanted.

I don't think it's hard, it just takes a little effort on the mans part. But men wait until the last minute so all hinting is already over.

Guess what I do? I buy what I want, give it to him, and tell him to wrap it and give it to me Christmas morning. I think it sucks, but he procrastinates and ends up buying junk. (his own admission) So although I HATE IT, it's how we do things. *sigh*

I rambled enough, you catch my drift.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

It's your wife.  And THIS:  "Well you know me, why can't you just get me something you think I would like..". " is a trap. Beware. If you know that she likes to cook, for example, and you come home with a $500 set of cookware, you could be in trouble. I AM actually getting some cast iron cookware from my DH for Xmas, but I ASKED for it.

I give my husband a list every year when he asks and he gets me stuff that's on it. I'll send you part of MINE, if you want . . .

I am betting she has dropped hints over the year but they were missed or you have forgotten them.  My husband goes for jewelry and clothes.  This year I said no clothes, I now work out of the house and have a closet full of things I don't wear often.  I just wear my comfy clothes during the day.

I personally try to think of something unique for my husband and some years I am successful and other years I am not.  We have been married less then 2 years and have known each other over 4 and neither of us really need anything.

So think of places you have been with her and she may have said, wow, isn't that nice....

Try not handing over your list until she gives you hers. You might not get what you want for Christmas but you will see if she can get you "something she thinks you would like:.

My advice, you can never go wrong with dimaonds, ever...period.  The more expensive the better you can't go wrong.  lol lol  Shes being nice, she probably suffers from that nice girl syndrone where she loves to give more then receiving, been there done that myself.  Buy her something beautiful that makes you think of everything shes done for you.  She sounds great.

Good Luck

The best gift-giving advice I have is that when it comes to women - always try to get something totally frivolous. The more frivolous and least useful it is, the better. Jewelry, flowers, candy, ...anything pretty and shiny...always works!
