Hello,

It's possible but rare.  The best prevention from this happening is to be sure and drink your water to flush out the proteins in your body.

70 grams too much?  When I was getting ready for my 3 major PS I upped my protein between 300 and 400 grams a day.

Take care,
Kathy
300-400 grams of protein a day? I am truly impressed!!! And that's high praise indeed, coming from a happy carnivore DSer such as myself. (*grin*)

Don't rub it in

I had 3 major surgeries and the first one was 9 procedues and rumors of my pending death were posted often

At the time I was working, with this really great trainer and he said 6 months before any major surgery eat as much protein as you can.  I had to drink supplements as you can imagine as I can't take in that much protein with food.

I have to tell you, the first surgery was a snap, I healed in record time and needed no drugs. Working out hard for 6 months helped as well....

Take care,
Kathy

My enzymes are always slightly elevated, but nothing my surgeon was ever concerned about...goes along with the high protein diet.

My mother has had a liver transplant and she has to be careful of how much protein she takes in.  I was told 60-120 grams of protein a day.
