I know anything is possible but Im 5 months out and Im down 91 pounds from surgery date and Im proud of that but what Im wondering is could I have stretched my pouch out already. I mean I dont eat alot and I dont eat things Im not suppose to but I eat alot more than I did the day I had surgery and my surgeon basically gave me a guide line of the amount of food I could have and I know Im going over that guideline, so Im just curious as to what is going on inside of me and my pouch and if theres anyway I could find out if I have stretched it or if its going to stretch alittle or ANYTHING THAT IS GOING ON WITH ME lol. Thanks guys for your support and insight!!

Your pouch will eventually stretch out from the origional 3 oz...to a cup and a cup 1/2.  The farther you get out..the more control you will have to be in.

Yes, eventually you will have to eat more than 3oz at a time.

It's part of the process.

My surgery was in 2004 and I can eat so much of certain things, but I guarantee you that you think that you are eating more than you really are. I make a plate of food and I eat until I am full and ten puch it away, and everyone to thias day says: you didnt even eat anything. AT this point you are so used to eating so little that anything extra (which is totally normal) will seem like a huge amount. Trust me, you will never eat like you did before and whatever you choose to eat is ok because we dont absorb food the way that everyone else does. Im sure your pouch is fine and you would probably have to eat a whole turkey to actually stretch your pouch!!! Stay calm and dont worry, you will continue to lose, please dont worry about it. Look at your success already and know that more is to come!!
Since I am so far out from my date of surgery, if you have any questions let me know!!

I think its pretty normal.. that the farther we get out.. the larger our pouch gets...and its pretty normal to feel how you are feeling, as I felt the same exact way.. its kinda scary at times bc we were so used to eating such small amounths.. now were finally getting back to a more normal way of eating I guess.. congrats on your success thus far : )

I'm sure your pouch has stretched over the past five months.  It's supposed to.  You simply could not live on two tablespoons of food forever, you know?

I am in same boat as you might be. I could eat way to much but was able to maintain all my lost but 7 pounds. Went in for a fill and was told my pouch was stretched to large. Had to have all fluid removed for 4 weeks to let pouch go back to normal size. I am headed back for the fill this morning-can't wait. Last night was like the "last supper" before surgery all over again. Doc said I would probabl gain 10 lbs in the 4 weeks but I didn't so I feel pretty good about that. You might try the "5" day pouch diet that is on the board. Good luck  remember how well you have done to date!!

Why are you going over the guidelines that your surgeon gave you?  I wouldn't worry to much about the stomach as I would about your stretching the stoma (opening to your intestines) for eat to much food.  Are you hungry more often etc?  Or is it your old habits of wanting to eat more taking over?
