Removed stitches... now I have a big hole!

No sign of infection. I am taking the antibiotics just in case but they look good. If I get ANY sign of infection... I'll be right in to the doctor... Definitely.

I cut out the middle of a bandaid to make my own strip to pull the sides together and for it to be kept dry. I'll go around tomorrow to a few pharmacy's and see if I can find sterile strips. Target and CVS had nothing.

it is normal for them to gap open a little,with all the swelling in our bellies. Mine did the same thing and the drain incision actually reopened and drained a little clearish fluid for a couple of days but has since closed up nicely.

Skin wants to heal and it will once the drain is out. They do sorta heal from the inside out. They need to be exposed to the air so they can make a scab. scabbing is part of the healing process.keeping them moist with ointment just prolongs the healing.

I found butterfly bandages at Walgreen's if you have one of them.

Sorry to hear of the little glitch.
i asked my doc today for some advise and it is exactly as JammieRN stated. Think it was her.
Anyways... I got butterfly band-aids at WalMart a few days ago.
You really have to look... ok... I'm lying... I'm a guy... I had to ask.

HAHA so funny. I will have to ASK today. I searched and couldn't find em.

This morning one of the holes is half way closed. Looks great. I placed a bandaid over it with a cutout middle... so its being held together but it can still air out and dry. That worked wonderfully and its closing. The other big hole will need another day or two. lol

No sign of any infection tho.. so that is great! Problem solved. :) Now if only I can get off this little stall. Grrrrr......
