Sometimes the attention is too much!

I guess I was one of those people always asking questions to the person who had surgery. For me I guess deep inside I was thinking about haveing surgery done and just wondering how they were doing and was always amazed at how well they were doing. That gave more reason to have the surgery myself. Maybe peole ask because they are truley interested and thinking of having it done themselves. Except for my sister she is just being noisey. We always had competition going all our lifes. I think she is afraid I will get down below her again.

I agree that many people don't realize how intrusive a personal question they are asking--after all, our entire society is focused on weight.

Just smile, thank them for their support, and say something to the effect that you're not really sure but you're feeling so much healthier now, then ask them something about themselves.  People love to talk about themselves!!!  ("What are you going to do in your garden now that it is so close to spring?")

Yes, the head games are a real trip!

Good luck!

Good post Leanne.
It gets uncomfortable.

I try to blend in- always have.

I know they mean well, but the co-workers..."Girl, you are melting away." Girl, how much have you lost?" blah blah blah

But, I am happy and I am working hard. I guess I would complain if nobody noticed.

I am just not comfortable with compliments about my appearance. I'm not accustomed to it.

oh well.

Just smile and say, "Thank you, it's very kind of you to say that."  It will make them feel good too.
