DS AND Gastic Sleeve
At the end of the day isn't it up to YOU to find hospitals that accept Medicaid for Bariatric Surgery seeing it's YOU who want's the surgery?
I'm pretty sure it's not Jackie's job, or anyone else's for that matter. Stop playing the 'victim' and take some responsibility.
YOU WANT IT DONE, SORT IT OUT... You're an adult.
I think you thrive on drama and it's sad.

Please don't compare yourself to Jesus. You are not Jesus. As a Christian, I find that very insulting. Also, I cringe at your prooftexting of Bible verses to attack others on here who are trying to help you or who are simply respectfully disagreeing with you. Not cool, man.
Good luck with your weight loss surgery journey, but if you want the support of people on this site, I suggest you try another tactic. And, for the love of God, I must repeat this for emphasis: please don't insult Jesus by saying your situation on here is comparable to his crucifixion. It. Is. So. Not. The. Same. Thing.
Peace out.
If you have submitted the paperwork somewhere already, then be patient and see what they tell you. If and when they let you know that they are ready to take you ask THEM if they can refer you a doctor or surgeon closer to where you are.
If they say no, then suck it up and drive the extra distance (or take a bus, rent a helicopter, walk, WHATEVER IT TAKES) so you can get this surgery done.
It will improve your health and your self-esteem, which are both things you desperately need.
I am done referring you to other places that are closer to you that take Medicaid, so go with the one you've submitted your paperwork to and be patient.

Hi Valerie,
The big thing that might help him would be deciding if he wants to deal with all the vitamins every day for the rest of his life. For me it is not even an issue but many seem to have an issue with it. How many do you take daily and what is the schedule?
So savedbaptis1968t... the question you need to answer for himself and be very truthful about is how good would you be at taking several pills say 3 times a day. Would you remember?? Can you agree to doing this every day for the rest of your life EVEN ONCE YOU HAVE LOST THE WEIGHT??!!?? If you are not good and I mean VERY good at taking lots of pills then DO NOT get a DS. I plan to set an alarm on my cell phone to go off every time I'm suppose to take something. I'm fine with that. I have to take a handful of pills now at night (I'm only days out from DS surgery so have not started the suppliments yet) so I am happy to replace drugs to treat my other issues with a handful of vitamins/suppliments a few times a day. I'm a scientist so being exact comes very natural to me though. It does not come easy to most people. I want you to stay healthy so please consider what I've said. Replacing one unhealthy condition with another is not an answer.
Also... since the VSG is the stomach part of the DS, you can always go back and have a revision if the VSG does not do enough. Why do you eat? Is it because you are hungry all the time or for emotional or boredom reasons? The VSG will help you be less hungry but if you eat regardless of hunger then I'm not sure it will help you as much as you need. If on the other hand you eat because your hunger is never satisfied then VSG might be a cure and you may not need the additional bypass part of the DS surgery. You will just need to be careful not to stretch your stomach back out by eating too much.
Hopefully what I've told you will help you decide what is right FOR YOU. No one else can tell you. Good luck whatever you decide.
Kathy
