My surgeon has moved out of town so my pcp is taking care of anything I need, He is very knowledgable on wls, I called and he said to take regular maalox, I did and it helped,,,I hope I dont have an ulcer,,thanks for the Help,, Steve

Steve - sometimes gas just happens. I was unfortunate enough to develop an ulcer about 2 months post op. I did have a lot of gas at the time, but I thought it was because I was still new at the eating thing as I also had to have my stoma stretched 6 weeks post-op. If the gas persists or you develop any pains in the abdomen that last longer then a day then you should definitely call your PCP. Best of luck to you! Peg

Steve...are you using any sugar free products that have maltitol in them? That stuff nearly kills me. You would have pain with an ulcer...gas is caused by the breakdown of sugars and MALTITOL in your system. My protein shakes give me gas really bad too...and fruit...and vegatables....and water....and sleeping....and breathing....and talking.... Jeez.... Hugs Charlie The Old Surfer Girl
