"Fat" vs. "Obese" - What's in a Name?

Yes!  My mom still tries to insist to me that I am not obese now (still hovering around 30.2 BMI), nor was I obese when I had my surgery (at about 37 BMI).  I explain, "Mom, it's an actual medical term with a specific definition," but she still says, "But you were never obese!"  

People think of the 900 lb guy who had to get craned out of his bed on Oprah when they hear "obese".
