Help with non metal medical ID bracelet

I would like to purchase a medical ID bracelet that I can actually wear.  I ordered a sterling silver one but as usual it made me break out in a terrible rash.  I have always been allergic to any metal that lays on my skin (such as the snaps on jeans or the hooks on a bra).  I need to find one without metal but so far all I have found are the clunky velcro sports ones that come in God awful colors!  I cant wear one of those when I am dressed up to go to work or out in the evening.  Does anyone know of a sight that has any alternatives?  Thanks.

Have you ever tried to coat the inside of jewlery with clear nail poli**** really helps.
I agree the other non metal ones are to 'sporty" and are pretty UGLY..
I just ordered my tag yesterday from Laurens Hope... I am making my own bracelet part... I want to be sure that it has all the specific info for RNY... my girlfriend has one and she loves it.

Have someone coat the metal with Resin... I use to make stuff out of it when I was a kid... you would get it at a hobby store, or marine store... same stuff you would use to finish wood, high gloss...  a few coats would work.

Dang it, if I were close to you... I would figure it out...

I too have the same problem that you have with base metals in things.   I ordered one off Ebay and it is absolutely beautiful.  It is 10K gold ( solid ) and very dainty and beautiful like a fine piece of jewelry.    Here is a photo of it and what it is selling for.   Hope this comes out if not I will send you the link.   Good luck.

The only thing about the one's from Lauren's Hope is they are "base metal".    The bracelet it self isn't but the charm with the info on it is.    I know they are expensive.   I bought mine almost 5 yrs. ago and still gave alot for it.   But as I said....it is beautiful and I never take it off.   It has held up great ( never broken ) and it was worth every penny that I spent for it.    I will never have to replace it due to tarnish or anything else.    It is a investment  IMHO.    Lauren's Hope bracelets are pretty pricey too.   Hope you enjoy your bracelet

10k gold also makes me break out badly. I can wear 14k but who can afford that?? Not me! I have tried coating the bracelet I have with nail polish..lasted only 2 days...then I tried verathan (sp?) and that lasted 4 days...HELP!

Oh WOW I am sorry that you are also allergic to 10K gold.   You might want to talk to a jeweler and see if you could get one and have it dipped in 14K gold ( that would be cheaper than buying one 14K if you can find one that is ).    They also carry cards that are medic alert that you carry in your wallet.    Good luck to you.

bariatric tv was JUST talking about this in episode 91 (no I don't work for them) but they talked about ICE (in case of emergency) in your phone - you can watch the episode here

http://bariatrictv.com/   it's episode 91 - called 'ice ice baby'

Anyway, I immediately put in my phone "no nsaids, no blind ng tube and gastric bypass pt, call hubby" and put my hubby's phone number - I couldn't believe it, it all fits inside the field in the contacts name and last name. I did it now so that I wouldn't forget - I know, I know...I'm preop but I didn't want to forget. silly ...but...whatever.

I also found a website that allows you to print out your medical information and print it onto a  wallet sized card that "peeks through" a window in a wallet.

http://www.medids.com/Medical-Emergency-ID-Card.html

It helps to think outside the box and get creative.

Peace
