The links in my signature have good comparison charts of the WLS out there.  Some of the information is based on individual eating habits (like gas regarding the  DS), but it has some good graphics so you can see what you are getting into.

As a lap band survivor, I would NOT recommend that one.  IMO if you want restriction only go with the sleeve, if you need malabsorbtion due to metabolism issues or other lifestyle issues go with the DS.

Think about the lifestyle after the surgery.  With the band I had to diet, count calories, never know if something was going to get stuck, etc (which I assume is like living with a pouch and stoma), now I eat normally, eat low carb, and am losing effortlessly.

I love my DS.

I have been on here for a while and Ive been reading different posts and I'm confusing myself.  I have looked over the info and Ive done research but there are so many people on here that are complaining about the RNY that it makes me even more scared than I already was.  I didn't come here to hear that I'm doing the wrong thing and that I should do something else I came here for support. I want to hear the good things and the bad, but I don't want the jaded advice or comments I want the truth If you didn't do it right than I don't wanna hear that it doesn't work if you didn't see about what options you have before AND after I don't want to hear about it. We all love food well some of us hate it but I need to know what you think? Please let me hear your story.

I think you should get the RNY surgery.

10 years post op RNY transected, lost 225#, have maintained my weight loss within a 15# window ever since. No revisions.  No complications.  Not even 1 endoscope in 10 years. Best thing I ever did for myself.
