Doc says I can drink while eating....
Yeah, I wanna say thanks Heidi for that too! I've always felt the exact same but just never said anything... I also sip during meals! I'm 5 months post-op and have past doc's goal 1 1/2 months ago and have 17lbs to go until my personal goal. (anything lower is a bonus!) Sipping during meals has NEVER caused any problems for me or my labs. I've done it from the beginning. I just can't eat without something to moisten the throat.
If I'm seriously watching my food intake, I don't drink with my meals. The pouch fill up faster and I'm satisfied with less food.
While in the honeymoon stage and the weight is still coming off relatively easy, I would make the most of it. After you get to goal, you have more wiggle room.
I occasionally sip a little bit with my food, but I find that when I do, I can eat more. Sometimes I purposely do it if I'm eating out and want to have a "normal" meal.
I sip a little before I eat and then eat and sip a little after. I find it too mind bogglin to try to look at a clock to say hey 15 to 30 minutes passed and I can drink now! To each and their own. I think a lot of people drink and eat at the same time but don't admit it because they are living in shame from it because the WLS law says we are not suppose to do that! I say try it and if you don't like it don't do it.
I personally drink with my meals so that I a can eat more. If I eat alone . I will get in about 3 bites and be done. I know it isn't the best idea but I do protein shakes and one meal. So it isn't a whole day thing.
