Costco's Kirkland Signature Calcium Chews.

Hello

Recieved a Costco flyer in the mail for a discount on their sugar-free 500mg Costco house brand Calcium Chews, and was curious if anyone knows if this is something I could take?

Post-op, my surgeon wants me to take 1500mg of calcium citrate 3x day.

Unfortunately, it doesn't give me info on Costco's website about this product and when I Googled Kirkland Signature Chews, I was able to get some info off of Amazon.com but it didn't tell me what kind of calcium these chews are based off of.

Can anyone help me out and tell me if they are Calcium Citrate?

p.s. The coupon is for $2.50 off a count of 150.

Thanks!

Alissa

Alissa,

I am pretty sure those are the same as Viactiv which is calcium carbonate.

yes, it is calcium carbonate, which is not for us, patients after RNY

they are carbonate = bad for us. you need citrate or hydroxyapatite. take the regular el cheapo cal citrate horse pills and put them in a jigger of water. they'll fall apart and you can swallow them easy peasy.
