Work With What You Have

My Husband had a total hip replacement on Friday. He's doing exceptionally well and came home yesterday.

I got a hard core workout on Thursday, but couldn't work out Friday morning, due to being on call for a potentially earlier surgery time for him. By the time he got into a room it was 8:00 that evening and I was wiped.

Saturday and Sunday were a totally different matter. I purposely wore sweats and a T-shirt and my track shoes because I knew I'd have time and a plan! While he slept in a drug induced state, I walked. Abbott-North Western is a huge hospital and I walked for an hour and a half. I took the stairs and roamed/power walked at a good clip all over the place. It felt great after sitting so much the day before...I did a repeat the next day as well.
I guess my point is....things will happen in our lives that take us out of our routines. With adaption, we can always fit in some excercise, pick something healthy to eat, and stay on track with our plans!!
Happy losing my friends,

Nice job Heidi.  For the most part I typically have a positive outlook on things and when life hands us lemons ... we make lemonade.  Just not with sugar!!  :)
