Why Did You Bother?

Heidi, how amazing are you? Beth has been to how many doctors and neurologists that can't pin down the cause of her seizure disorder, but you read through her blog and BAM come up with self-inflicted seizure disorder due to not aborting a post WLS pregnancy. Jeeenius. Where the hell did the abortion statement come from? That was just weird and inappropriate. And as for taking responsibility and not "shoving anything in my mouth that is going to **** it up", the 3 minutes I spent skimming your profile page found many referrals to bagels, brownie bites and a pout because of no cannoli. Hm.

   

 Heidi, I have suggested you seek conseling more than once, for you to think it is even CLOSE to appropriate to ask a mother if she WISHES she had aborted her 4 year old child, shows that you are seriously need of help. I truly hope this is not an indication of your motherly instincts. 

If you knew getting pregnant would give you grand mal seizures and all the problems you have had since would you have had an abortion?  GIRL, "YOU" have some major issues and YOU need to get ahold of someone REAL QUICK-LIKE to help you through them!  How can a 'mother' say to another mother, and I quote, "If you knew getting pregnant would give you grand mal seizures and all the problems you have had since would you have had an abortion?"  HOW COLD! ! ! to I have read all your information of when you problems with RH and seizures started and its all tied to the pregnancy after the wls, the fact that the "problems with RH" and seizures started after her wls, CAN we say C_O_I_N_C_I_D_E_N_C_E  maybe??? and even IF it was due to her wls, WHAT THE DICKENS BUSINESS is it of yours to THROW IT OUT HERE and bring up abortion at the same time???  OMGosh, again I say, HOW COLD ! ! ! maybe people of child bearing age shouldn't have wls because the risk is too high.  AND , with THAT KIND OF LOGIC, maybe people who have already had children (your case ONLY), should NEVER have wls due to the after affects of SNOBBERY and being JUDGEMENTAL that happened!And I do feel guilty that my company had to pay for me to have a surgery for something I should have been able to control myself, GUILT seems to be one of your major issues...did you ever stop to think that JUST MAYBE 'you' could NOT control it yourself due to 'quite possibly' a METABOLISM breakdown?  Many of us have dieted and dieted and, I don't know about you, but I know myself, "I" worked very hard through the years to lose weight and DID IT SUCCESSFULLY, only to gain it all back AND THEN SOME, until finally one day I was told by my doctor that my metabolism was the problem, NOT MY WILL POWER!   I also come from a family of OBESE PEOPLE (I'm sure you have heard of 'hereditary'). HAVING wls (5 years ago) was the best thing I ever did for me and I carry no guilt in obtaining it; even IF I had been fortunate enough to have insurance pay for it!    but I take responsiblity for all my actions not just the ones I pick and choose too.  Hence the reason I support my son and don't toss him in the street and let the state pick up the tab.  Its called responsiblity, for me it never ends and it fully encompasses all the actions. Responsibility also entails RAISING our children to be "productive" adults who are WILLING and ABLE to support themselves; otherwise, IF and WHEN (and there WILL be a when) the parent is no longer able to 'support' said child, then the parent has only taught the child to seek the STATE to pick up his/her tab!

I have had epilepsy since I was a child.  Started as absence seizures and has progressed to tonic clonic (commonly referred to as Grand Mal). 

YOU SHOULD STFU.  It is people like you who have perpetuated the idea that people who live with a seizure disorder are somehow less than adequate or cannot compete for the same jobs or have healthy babies, etc.

I had the DS a year ago and plan to get pregnant this year.  I expect everything will go smoothly and I will have a beautiful baby sometime next year.  

Learn the facts and stop running off at the mouth.

 You tell her, girl!  And sorry you have to deal with the seizures.

Life, it happens.  Medical issues arise that can cause weight gain, even after a weight loss surgery procedure.  Babies happen.

If we weren't human none of us would be on this ******g message board to begin with, because none of us would have had to RESORT to life-altering surgery because we could FIX IT OURSELVES.

I don't think anyone sabotages their loss on purpose - at least not that they are AWARE of.

Morbid obesity and addiction go hand in hand, people relapse, over and over and over again.

Guilt is NOT the answer to curing morbid obesity.  Guilt poisons you.
