I have to say that I agree, this kind of comes off as judgemental.

Some could have said the same thing to you about why you ALLOWED yourself to get fat and/or why you ALLOWED yourself to stay fat for so long.

Some could also say that had you put the same effort into LOSING weight the old fashioned way that you put into MAINTAINING your weight loss (I've seen posts where you have referred to having nothing to eat but lemon water all day to allow yourself to eat more freely in the evenings with your BF) you would not have had to resort to the surgery.

I'm surprised that as a former fatty you don't have more understanding/compassion for those who are struggling.

And to ask Beth if she would have chosen an abortion?? That, my friend is over the TOP!!

ETA: I do agree with one thing you said; the idea that the response to someone who is struggling is automatically "revision surgery" is ridiculous. How about trying to get back on track first? Try participating in those "healthy behaviours" that you were supposed to put in place during your honeymoon period (protein first, healthy carbs and fats next, exercise, no grazing etc.) before running off again to the surgeon's office. After all, was WLS your first "diet"? NO. Nor should revision surgery be your first response to regain.

Well stated.

And I agree revision shouldn't be a person's first plan to deal with a regain.  But there are real needs for a revision for some people.
