Here is my issue. I have nodules on my thyroid. They have shunken in the past year, levels are fine. I had my sleeve in Dec. got my bloodwork back two weeks ago. levels are high! And I am prediabetic my bp is down. I don't know what to think. My endo dr. asked me all of the med that I am taking. I take daily prilosec, verapimal, biotin, multivitamin, and occasionally melantin(otc sleep aid) QUESTION: can any of these meds be the cause of my thyroid levels raising. Does prediabetic automatically turn into diabetes? Dam, it seems like two steps forward, ten steps back!!! I yi I yi!

Don't really have an answer for you but just had VSG procedure done 2 weeks, 2 days ago.  When I came back I was due for regular bloodwork and my Thyroid levels had changed and they had to up my meds for it.  First time in probably 10 years.  Just and FYI add me to the short list of people who's thyroid levels had changed.  Only new medicine is biotin and stomach medicine which one is Riopan and not sure what the other is except I think it is something like priliosec because it is for reflux or stomach acid.

I have stopped taking all insaids which my back misses terribly but after all the bleeding during surgery it has me scared to even think about it. :o)

Hi,
I had my thyroid removed because of a ca tumor...I was also prediabetic using metformin daily, using prilosec for heartburn and had excessively high cholesterol levels. Since my surgery all issue have resolved and the only thing I still need is my thyroid meds which I have monitored with blood work every 6 months. All that to say no all the other meds wont effect your TSH but the nodules will...if they are to small to have removed then you need to have your TSH levels monitored very closely to keep the T3-T4 levels where they need to be 1.0-3.5 is a good range. I try to keep mine at 1.5 which seems to allow me to function best. I hope this helps...good luck
