surprising phone call.... from my surgeon

I just knew we had the best surgeons anywhere here!

Long story short, long term nausea, worsening these last weeks. Finally saw a surgeon about it friday, had blood labs, peed in a cup (not htat I had much to pee), and a stat ct scan. He'd left before I had any idea what to do. Knew I'd be back monday morning. Well I just got a phone call from him. First saying not to bother going for the test, then saying yes,he'll call the radiologist about what to look for. Then while we discussed labs etc, he encouraged me to go to the er for fluids. I've been resistant, but this headache is getting bad. I know it's from being dry. Anyway, now I'm to completely have the upper gi (well this portion of it...) and then have them page the surgeon. I may be taken directly to the eGD lab. Everyone is really thinking stricture now.

Just wanted to update on that.... and throw it out there... Bassett Hospital/Healthcare has the best team of bariatric surgeons anywhere!

Also wanted to update. I'm having trouble drinking/eating at all. I've had about 1/4 to 1/3 of a yogurt. The sips of water I have had have come back up. So that's not going either.

Sorry you are still having problems, but it sounds like your doc is on the ball so hopefully you'll be on the mend soo!

I hope you are able to get answers to why you are having this increase difficulty getting things down. In thinking about the tests planned it seems to me it may be hard to drink the contrast liquid so that the UGI series can be completed. Since the UGI and EGD both basically can yield the same results? I too think you will likely end up having gastroscopy. Again, good luck, feel better soon.
