Question about blocking
I've had one once....but fried chicken (which I like) floating in gravy kinda grosses me out. Since my WLS, my sense of taste is really heightened, and almost all fast food (with the exception of an occasional Arby's Jr Roast beef) is a huge turn-off for me now. I can taste the chemicals!

I think when is a person is at or near goal, that's one thing, but straight out of the hospital?
I agree on fast food. Hubby and I took a 3000 mile road trip at Christmas and I about starved to death because I could stomach very little of the foods available.

We're taking the train from Michigan to Montana this summer, and we're packing a small cooler to take onboard, plus a tote bag of nonperishables. DH is a chef, and we've been having fun thinking of interesting things to pack, because I know I won't be able to stomach "snack bar" and dining car prepackaged stuff for thirty hours!!

Well I planned to bring some goodies to eat, but had a ditzy moment and ended up not bringing it with me.....and every time we got near a costco (only store I knew that carried what I needed) they didn't HAVE what I needed..... it was a really difficult journey, with us spending 12 days on the road and not having decent food the whole time. That was when I began to really suspect reactive hypoglycemia, because I had a bunch of "episodes" after less-than-optimum foods.

Yah, being just across the puddle from Windsor Ontario, I always wondered about that poutine business. Now Tim Hortons? Bring it on! Pork pie? Absolutely! But poutine? I might have to hold off on that one, LOL.

What a combo! I promise next time I go, I'll try an order. Do you find you just can't eat french fries like you used to? I still crave them, but once I eat a couple, most, unless they are the *perfect* french fry, just make me feel disappointed, and even if they are sublime, I still can only eat a few.
