What did your preo-op diet consist of?

I was put on a pre-op diet 3 weeks prior to my surgery. My list of ok foods were the surgeons office line of stuff including protein shakes, protein bars, and protein soup/oatmeal. I could also have water, Crystal light, and sugar free popcicles. That is all. I lost 15 lbs during it.

The night before my surgery, I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a side of onion rings and a soda. Like MsBatt, my pre-op diet was...whatever the hell I wanted! I believe my surgeon was of the mindset that if a surgeon couldn't work around a fatty liver, then they shouldn't be doing WLS in the first place, so he did not prescribe any of these crazy pre-op diets. I preferred to do my "carb detox" while I was on heavy-hitting pain meds early post-op - no need to torture myself beforehand.
