The cycle ends right now. You can't lead me down that road.
Sarah,
That is a good point. I teach online and I have been frequently amazed at the emails I get from some of my students. I would never in a million years talked to one of my professors that way - even the idiot ones!

Yep. When I was still a first-year teacher in Texas, my principal had it out for me when she found out I had WLS. She worked very hard to make my year hellish. She even tried to stage an "intervention" with a few colleagues to try and save my soul because I "ruined God's temple" by getting WLS and, apparently, Jesus does not like pouches.
It was so bad that I left the profession - having such a bad first-year teaching experience can definitely ruin your outlook on the education field. Still, I have turned lemons into lemonade... now I'm in nursing school and happier than ever. My momma always told me that living well is the best revenge. Screw the haters - they can't hold me down!!

The reason I kept my surgery secret was that my principal had expressed that WLS turned another teacher very unreliable, and she wouldn't trust anyone who had the surgery to BE reliable.
I did NOT want to be considered unreliable, so I kept it to myself.
I think that two other teachers have also had surgery on my campus but kept it secret for this reason.
