Ah the simple joys of life

We finally got enough of a break from the rain that I could cut my lawn tonight. Well.. okay.. The ground was really too wet and the mower's wheels left some muddy ruts.

But the sun was out and the temperature was warm enough to allow me to wear a sleeveless tee shirt.

And I actually enjoyed mowing my lawn.

It wasn't a chore like it was a couple of years ago when every step brought pain in my feet, my ankles and my knees.

I didn't break out into a sweat.

I finished the job in less than an hour, instead of taking two hours like it did when I weighed more than 500 pounds.

And when I was done.. my wife had me take out the trash.

Life is pretty good, wouldn't you say?

Isn't great to be just plain normal?  It's little moments like this make  life worth living.

. . . and if you haven't had the opportunity to fly on a plane since your weight loss - that's an experience that will bring a tear to your eye (and as well it should!).

Life IS pretty good, I'd certainly agree with you there!

"And when I was done.. my wife had me take out the trash."

LOL!!   But that was, of course, because she knew you still had it in you to do that one more thing!! Very nice post! :D

Good for you.  I enjoy cutting grass too.  However,  I do have a riding lawn mower since my yard is about 3 acres minus landscaped areas.  One thing I've noticed since I lost 120 pounds is that my lawnmower actually works better - it makes it up the hills a little easier - imagine that!  It's probably sighing a sigh of relief.  I bet I get better gas mileage on it too!

I do have a reel cutter (manual/no motor) for tight places that the riding mower won't fit into.  I too, enjoy my improved mobility.  Thanks for reminding me of this simple joy.

I love that you pay attention to all these little things in life because it reminds me to pay attention too.  You are such an inspiration.
