Do you not eat meats???? Meats are full of protein .... cottage cheese is also a good choice!

I think cottage cheese is about the highest protein item I've seen per volume that is not meat.  I notice that you eat it almost every day.    It taste fair to me - but the texture really turns me off.  I've put it in the blender and liquified it to add protein to a smoothie.  I notice you often eat it with peaches.

This weekend my kids wanted pancakes.  I know pancakes are not our best food to eat - but I did eat one with sugar free syrup.  I added 3 eggs when I would have put 1 in the past; and I added a whole carton - maybe 2 cups of cottage cheese.  I also added oatmeal in place of some of the flour.  They were extra good and the kids didn't notice any difference!  Who knows the calorie or protein count.  I made about 15 pancakes out of all of the batter.  The kids have been heating them up in the microwave for breakfast so far this week.

I think I will try to add cottage cheese to more things.  Any other things you add it to to increase the protein?

I really can tell the difference when I eat higher protein. I've got to be extra vigilant these days.

Dry non-fat powdered milk is a good ingredient to up the protein!  Those pancakes sound AWESOME!

I am with you about the texture of cottage cheese.  I will try it one more time.  I only got 70 grams of protein today and I got 1255 calories.  I burned 400 with my workout.

I work out with a trainer twice a week to work on increasing my muscle.  I ran track as a teenager. I love running and just wasn't able to because of my weight for years.  However, running is a great way to keep the weight off, and it is the best stress releaver in the world.

Check out this book: run your butt off. It is a great way to start running.

Thanks for the book suggestion.  I like the title.  I need to run my butt off!  :)   Actually my butt is rather flat right now but I need to find a way to keep my butt off!

I've never ran before in my life - save the time our bull got after me when I was a kid.  I've been obese since about age 5.

You may already do this...but to get the protein up in my oatmeal I add protein powder (none flavoured)...it doesn't affect the taste or texture...but adds a ton of protein.

That sounds good.  What type of protein powder do you use? There are so many brands, and so many of them claim to be tasteless.

I use Beneprotein.  It's not available in stores here in Ontario...but the pharmacist can order it in for me.

Check out Cleopatra_Nik's blog...bariatric foodie. She has a recipe for protein pancakes that are awesome! They store wonderfully in the freezer, are low carb, and with SF syrup take care of the craving.
