Girl, you sure have some delicious sounding protein shakes!  I got so burned out on shakes pre and post-surgery that I can hardlly stomach them now.

Let me start by saying I am VERY picky about the way things taste (you know be by now!!! hahaaa). I am always willing to try something ONCE, but never settle unless it is not only healthy, but YUMMY to boot. Or it goes in the trash with a "oh well, worth a try" sigh. lol

Honestly, the Hi-Lo Protein Cereal (made by Nutritious Living) has me completely hooked and tastes fab with our without syrups (I just add them sometimes to switch it up so I don't get bored, but its sweetened already and delicious on its own). It comes in three flavors: Original, Maple Pecan & Vanilla Almond. All are delish and have the consistency of bran flakes (its the new Raisin Bran lol). Here are the lovely stats per (very filling) 1/2c serving:

Cal: 90
Fat: 2g
Carbs: 13 (but net carbs are only 6g!!)
Fiber: 7g
Sugars: 1g
Protein: 12g

Unbelievable, right?

Same goes for the Flax Snax Hot Cereal...that one comes in 4 flavors: Strawberries-n-Cream (my fave), Blueberries-n-Cream, Bananas-n-Cream and Cinnamon Spice (2nd fave lol). I love them all and only add syrup to the cinnamon one to enhance the spicyness, but its not even necessary - they are all sweet enough. :) Stats per 1/2c serving (again, very filling, thick oatmeal-y stuff):

Calories: 140
Fat: 6g (0 sat or trans)
Carbs: 13g (but net carbs are only 1g - crazy good!)
Fiber: 12g
Sugars: 0g
Protein: 12g

I buy all of my goodies at
www.netrition.com. $4.95 flat shipping and very competitive prices. *LOVE*

Thanks.

Here is the link to the 5-minute cakes.  Then, if you scroll down, you can see all of the ways to make various flavors.  Enjoy!  theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2010/04/that-takes-cake.html

Parmesan Tuna Patties (super quick and easy)

1- 5oz can of chunk light tuna - drained
1T Mayo (I use 0% Plain Greek Yougurt)
1 Large Egg
2T Parmesan Cheese
2T Ground Flaxmeal (I use Low-Carb breadcrumbs or Atkins Baking Quickmix)
1 dash Garlic Powder
1 dash Old Bay Seasoning
1 dash Salt
1-2T Shredded Cheese of Choice (I use sharp cheddar)

Preheat oven to 400. Mix all ingredients in a medium sized glass bowl.  Form into patties.  Spray muffin tin with Pam and place patties in muffin tin.  Bake for 15 minutes at 400, then broil for 2 minutes on each side to make them crispy.  After that, I even put them in a small frying pan for a few minutes with Pam because I like them REALLY crispy on both sides.  They save well in the fridge and that is also how I reheat them to crisp them up. :)
Serve with my version of tartar sauce - 1/4c 0% Plain Greek Yogurt mixed with 1T sweet relish.  Very protein packed and healthy stats.

I love smoked meat- but it's always given me heartburn prior to WLS - wonder about now?  I think I'll give it a try again!

b:  plain yogurt and kashi cereal
l:  taco salad
s:  atkins endulge bar and atkins protein shake
d:  wine then chicken thigh, salad, parm cheese

I hope I skip the snack later tonight.

My Atkins ready-made protein shakes that I bought yesterday are all "clumpy" - wonder why?  I did leave them in the car for a few hours but it's not too hot.  I drank it anyway - but really yucky texture - the taste was the same.
