I didn't know it would happen this fast. It has only been a little over 2 months since my gastric bypass. I went to bed Monday night and felt fine. then about 2:30 I woke up in horrible pain in my upper right side that went all the way through into my back. i couldn't lay still and get in any position that was comfortable more than 2 seconds. I had my nephews little girl and she was in bed so I toughed it out for about 2 hours. I was almost in tears. Finally about 4 I texted him at work and told him I was in pain and headed to the ER. He said he was on his way but I had already driven myself. I was hurting way too bad to wait. I got there and had to wait even more. I was about to scream when they finally got my back. My liver enzymes were through the roof and my bilirubin was also high. They got the pain under control and admitted me but I had to wait til today to have surgery so they could get those liver enzymes under control. They had me on a clear liquid diet but I didn't want anything to eat anyway. I just know I gotta get back to my protein ASAP...i am feeling fine tonight. Very little pain and soreness. I'm going home tomorrow....I was also very dehydrated and they were pumping me full of IV fluids and I have gained 15 lbs. I hope it comes off quickly..Pray for me!!! I need it. I'm bummed about that.

Thank you very much. It's nice to have somewhere to go and let it all out and have some support.

i know what that feels like, and hope you recover soon. I also hope your life without a GB goes well. I had mine removed 4 month ago, and am still dealing with post-op issues. Although you are probably doing this, it's worth repeating...eat very low fat and eat tiny meals. You've been altered, and you will have to adjust.

Aww Im sorry to hear about all that Tracy. But I am glad you are feeling better and on your way to a road of recovery now. As for the 15 lbs they will come off quickly.I gained almost 20 lbs in the hospital after my gastric bypass from all the IV fluids . I was really worried about that. When I came home my ankles and feet looked like balloons. My Dr. put me on lasix for a few days and in 4 days i lost 25 lbs lol so really dont worry it will come off! ... Hugs to you and get well soon!
