I never set a number goal. My goals were all health related. Beyond that, I was just waiting to see where my body took me. The only number I cared about seeing on the scale was 199 and I surpassed that :-).

My dr asked if I had a goal in mind and for me 200 is where I want to be. At that weight I can cross my legs and play softball and soccer without feeling like I am going to keel over.

The dr thought it was a realistic goal for me to have since I started at 383. He did not set a goal for me. He said his goal is for me to be healthy.

So far I've ditched my diabetes meds and my blood pressure meds. My pcp is thrilled and so am I. For me that stuff is more important than a number.

I set my goal at 160 pds and then kept losing. My surgeon told me NOT to go below 150, but I kept losing (not on purpose). When I got to 137 pds I looked emaciated and I was lethargic. So I have been busting my behind to get and stay at 145 pds. At 5'10 this is the best weight I can be ****il I have plastics and get GINORMOUS BOOBS, ok just kidding about the boob part.) Personally, I think you have to let your body decide.

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I started out as a "lightweight" so I felt that I could set my goal at 140 lbs which put me right at a normal BMI and was 100 lbs from where I started.
I made 140 and kept going.  I didn't change the way I was eating because I am comfortable with the way I eat.  I was advised to let my body decide as long as I was eating healthy and getting in my protein.  Right now I am 120 lbs.  My boyfriend thinks I am too thin but I wanted to have some bounce back room.  I'm not planning on losing any more and if I do I plan on adding some more protein and healthy fats.

The surgeon asked me what I wanted to set my goal at and told him 150.  All he said is that it was a reasonable goal.  Well, right now, I'm 3 lbs below that goal. I waiting for approval to get my excess removed (that's about 15 to 20 lbs).  I don't know if that's the best goal for me.  I'm going to see how my numbers are and how my body reacts to me at that weight.

I decided my goal weight (135) based on my lowest adult weight of 146.  My mother whom I share many physical traits with had an RNY in 2006 and ultimately landed at 140.  I thought that this weight looked FABULOUS on her and because we are the same build and height, I had an insight as to what I would look like at this weight.

I decided my goal on the weight I remember being happiest at.  Of course that was in highschool and before kids.  If I don't make that number it isn't that big of a deal.  I figure my body will stop where it is comfortable and that's what my goal is.  I just want to be healthier.  There are a ton of NSV's that I have as goals too.  Being able to look down and see my feet without any belly being in the way.  Being able to wear a dress without my thighs rubbing together to the point of a heat rash.  Being able to run and play with my kids without being winded.  There are too many to list, but that's a few of them.  If I can do the things I've always wanted and do them comfortably then I'm happy.
