16 months out - WOW

I can't believe that I am 16 months out.  I am healthier than I have been in years.  I turned 39 on June 1 and realized something.  This is the first year that I didn't set a goal at New Years saying that I would try and lose 40 pounds by my birthday.  Also, this is the first year that I am not morbidly obese and miserable.  Actually, I am so enjoying life again.  Shopping for cute clothes, buying and wearing 2pc swim suits and feeling really good where I am physically.  Now don't misread this...I do have self body issues BUT they are no where near where I was over a year ago.

Sad part now....

I have been out to ball parks and just out in general and see so many people that are morbidly obese or bigger.  I want to run up to these people and say look where I was Sept 2009 when my journey began with making my decision and look how much my WLS in Feb 2010 has helped me.  However...I think back to if someone did that to me...how would I react. So I never tell my story except through OH or if someone inquires about it..

To say that I am happy is an understatement.   I cannot tell you the feelings that I have to be able to shop off normal sized racks. To be able to wear up to date fashion that didn't look like a tent or mumu (no shape at all just covering you).

Now the biggest fear that I have....GAINING WEIGHT!!!

I obsessed with my scale.  I weight myself every morning and sometimes before bed.  I know the acceptable amount of gainage due to water weight that I allow.  I NEVER want to be where I was.  I still continue drinking my protein shakes like I did in the beginning and am religious in regard to vitamin intake.  If it ain't broke.... then why fix it...right?!

This may seem a bit OCD....but worth it when I hear....You look great....Sexy as hell...you are so tiny...girl if you don't eat you will blow away.  The best one to me.....Mom....I can give you a hug and touch my elbows and still have room...yup...I love that one.

As you read this you may be able to relate...not sure if you are a newbie or looking into WLS.  The best advise I can give you guys looking at WLS ....RESEARCH EVERYTHING!!!! Make sure you find a good fit for you no matter the procedure.  To those that are new to the loser's bench....Hold on...this is better than any ride you will ever take.  You have so many WOWs ahead of you.  Document your journey and reflect where you are and where you have been.  You WILL be AMAZED!!!!

I leave you with these pictures.  Before I was at 270 and the last two I'm at 155...

BTW...the picture of me in my ballcap...I have collarbones EEEEEEE!!!! So excited about that!!!

Your story is so inspiring and I'm sure you'll continue to do great with keeping the weight off!

I'm in the "hoop-jumping" phase of getting my surgery and hoping so badly that I can have my surgery sometime in September! I can't wait to start my new life :)

Thanks again for sharing. It is very uplifting to hear these success stories!

Congrats! You look wonderful! I am also a daily weigher, so I do understand those tendencies. LOL. I also totally agree with the being able to wear up to date fashion. I'd be doing that if I had the money to buy me a whole new wardrobe! LOL. Maybe next year I can buy the "Summer wardrobe" and not just a piece here and there. Glad to see your doing so well!
