Anyone want to do the 5 Day Pouch test with me?
Good for you! You're off to a great start. Wish I could do it with you, but didn't see your post 'til this AM. I'm thinking of doing a detox starting next Monday.

Too soon for me to do again but I will send positive vibes your way.
I did it M-F last week.
I lost a total of 7.8 pounds for the week.
I was puffy as hell and I knew the carbs were to blame.
I realized a cracker here, a pretzel there was leading me astray.
After 2 days of peeing my brains out and fighting a slight headache...I was in the groove.
No more junk.
This week, I am keeping carbs around 50-75 a day.
Protein around 100 as I prepare for plastics in Aug.
Tons of water.
I have lost another .3 pounds so far this week.
It really does help 'reset' your eating.
Size of the pouch...I don't know about that that.
But since I am eating meat and cheese...without cute slider stuff on the side...I am full and stay full.
The first 2 days are strange...but hey, it is only 2 days, right?
(I went to bed EARLY on those days!!)
Good luck to you.
And post about it! You just might help someone else who needs a little nudge to try it or has been on the fence about trying it.
edited to add: just noticed your surgeon. I met him at a surgical conference last year...liked him alot!

I am actually starting it today. I have gained about 12 lbs in the last 6 months and it's really frustrating. I know I eat way to many carbs, and I do a lot of grazing throughout the day. I need to kick the carb habit. And as much as I hate protein shakes, I can do anything for two days...right? So I'm off to the store now to get what I need to get started. How was day one for you?
Good luck! I know I didn't eat enough yesterday. I was pretty hungry at the end of the day (so I had two puddings).
I know I didn't eat enough... only about 500 calories. I haven't had anything yet today... I'm going to have a shake shortly. I'm really proud of myself though. I'm cooking for my son's birthday party which is tomorrow and have been in and out of the grocery store and didn't get one bad thing! I want to give in but I'm looking at the prize at the end. It will be worth it.

I just got back from the grocery store with all my supplies to get through these first couple of days. I just made my first protein shake and it is actually not too bad. Thank goodness. I am also making that ham and cheese soup that's on the 5 day pouch test website. It seemed like it would be really creamy, but it's actually not...very liquidy, but the couple of tastes I've had so far, it's pretty good. I think that will get me through tomorrow when I have to go to work. Work is always rough for me...everybody is always wanting to order out...and I get stressed and bored so I want to eat more.
Congrats on day one, and getting through the grocery store unscathed. I know how hard that can be.
