alcohol
ask your surgeon .. this could be a real slippery road .. transfer addictions and all that
if you do choose to drink make sure the first drink is at home to see how you react
read this study about how alcohol is metabolized after surgery .. the further out you are the worse you metabolize it

i don't think I'd drink this early out either but that's just me

Surgery: Dec 2009, lost 100 lbs
When you are no longer losing weight rapidly, or when you've reached your goal. Rapid weight loss---2 to 4 pounds per week---is very stressful on the liver, as is alcohol. And alcohol is just chock-ful of empty calories. A shot of prety much any liquor has around 70 calories, and a beer varies from 60 to 110 calories.
My surgeon didn't specify any of the above, and *I* had alcohol at my brother's wedding, 2.5 months post-op. Did it hurt me? Not so far as I know. Do I recommend it? NO.

I was told six months but I didnt wait that long I waited like 2 months you do need to be careful I was told we could drink wine as Its low in sugar but beware its gonna hit you!!! One drink pre op is like 5 drinks post op you could even blow over after one drink I was also told never beer as its carbonated or champange coolers packed with sugar...no no
I was also told any shot of liquor was okay when mixed with water or sugar free drink I enjoy Vodka and crystal light but I havent ventured that far a couple glasses of wine a week is all i have done as of yet and I am three months post op
