Right when you click on the link, it says the girls on the cover are a 12, 14 and a 16 - those are all plus-sizes and they're all gorgeous. I think they did a great job with those pictures.

Where do you live that 12, 14 and 16 are "plus" sizes? Not in the USA they aren't.

In most stores, usually 14 and up are found in the plus sections. I suppose I should have specified that in the "modeling world", those are definitely considered plus-sized.

Regardless, they are beautiful girls in those pictures.

The modeling world is psychotic, though, and I refuse to allow psychotics to define terms. The average American woman is a size 12-14. They have MAYBE shown average sized women. They don't get kudoes from me for doing that and calling them plus sized, KWIM?

Yep, I get what you're saying and I agree.

I really do love the pictures, though - from an artistic standpoint. I love photography.

While the setting and clothing (well, lack of) are typical but still disappointing, I think the women look much healthier, and more normal than the anorexic looking models that are on most covers.

I'm skeptical though, cuz I'm an 8-10 now, and those women are NOT larger than me.

It's a step in the right direction. Those women look beautiful, and these photos compliment their beauty, which is not a size 0. Thank you Vogue for celebrating real women.

Coming from a plus sized Italian woman who just posted a pic of herself in a slip the other day, I think they are grand.  Maybe not haute couture, but very smart for a fashion magazines to be using women other than emaciated stick figures to showcase.

I am sure these woman would look good in high fashion clothing too.  That can be for another cover.

I didn't even notice the food.  I guess it just seemed normal to me and certainly wasn't the focus of the pictures.  Beauty, art and food seem to meld together in the Italian culture.
