My rational mind knows it can't happen...

I hate to be one of THOSE whiners... yesterday when I woke I did the same thing as I normally do... weighed myself... the scale went from 177 to 184 I almost passed out from the shock... I know in all reality I cannot gain 7lbs overnight... but in same aspect I am  scared ****less.... I  know it's UBER humid lately.. and I have stepped up my work outs ALOT.  anyone go through this? I know I am not alone... and rationally its not possible to gain all this over one night...   better yet I should throw the damn scale away... thanks for letting me whine....

There are many factors that can contribute to the 7 lbs... and while your rational mind knows this, our post op mind freaks OUT when this type of thing happens. I used to have 2 digital scales in my bathroom early out from surgery and would flip if one was higher than the other, I had lost my mind over those numbers. I finally threw them both out the back door in the pouring rain one day. Bought a new one a few months later though. Hide the scale for a few days if you can, maybe up your water intake a bit now that you are working out a lot more, and try to let it go (much easier said than done, I understand).

RELAX. It's water retention. Heat, humidity, hormones, probably too much working out for the heat index and not enough water intake, which causes fluid retention. Chill out from the workout when it gets into heat wave advisory level (you can check on weather.com to see what the combination of temp, humidity and air quality is doing in your area), and try to double your fluids.

Doubling the fluids might not be entirely attainable, but it gives you a goal to work on and you'll take in a LOT more. It will help get rid of some of the retained fluid. Watermelon and asparagus are foods with diuretic qualities.

Congrats, overnight you have morphed into the human sponge.
It's water.
I do this all the freaking time. I retain at the drop of a hat. You'd think I was addicted to a salt lick the amount I can hold some days..

Just give it time, drink as much fluids as you can, (avoid the salt-lick) and it will eventually release. Plus the more you work out, especially muscle work, the more post-work ou****er weight you will hold.. part of the muscles repairing and all that..
