Do Pounds Look Like More When You Weigh Less?

When I was 260lbs + I didn't think that 5-10lbs up or down on the scale looked any different to me. I have read posts where the poster comments on how much an extra 10lbs makes a big different in appearence.   Does it when you weigh that little?

A dream come true!

It looks so so so much different.

I am 160 lbs now -- and 150 looks entirely different.  It is really wild how that is -- and how fat distributes.

When I was 262 there wasn't much difference in an extra 20 lbs even.

Now 5 lbs makes a huge difference and is the difference in a pants size. I now weigh 145 but would like to weigh 140 so that I can wear all my pants.

Yes, at 286, it would take 20-30 lb to go down from a 24 to 22. Now at 160, 5-10 lbs is a complete size of clothing like 10 to an 8.

Also, I noticed my sister gained some weight. Her breasts went up a cup size and it was at least a size in clothing, she actually told me she gained 5 lbs. I couldn't believe it was only 5 bc you could really tell but I guess when you are a 4, its like that.

I'd love to pick 5 lbs added to my boobs but I guess that's not how it works.

When I was 282 lbs it took a loss of nearly 70 lbs before anyone even NOTICED that I was losing ANY weight! Geesh!

Now at 150, yeah, even a 5 lb difference people see it in my face or arms and go "Did you lose weight?"

Funny how the body is like that! LOL!

Warmly,
Jackie

5 pounds as a pre-op I might not even notice - now it's entire pants size up or down.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Plus sized clothing is cut so that there is a 1.25 inch sizing difference between sizes. Regular sized clothing is cut so there is a 1 inch sizing difference. But the smaller sizes (4 and lower?) are cut with a .75 inch sizing difference.

So that alone is going to mean gaining a few pounds at a smaller size is more noticeable to you than at a larger size. People report losing 25 pounds or more and not going down a size when they are SMO for example. Well, my clothes get tight if I gain 3 pounds sometimes. (It depends on whether it's muscle or fat though.)
