Keep a food diary and see what's going on calorie wise.

My mom has COPD, and her pulmonologist says that her meds are to prevent further damage, not just to her lungs but to her heart as well. He stresses that it's important to NEVER skip a dose.

What does your pulmonologist say about this?

Advir, Spiriva, a couple more.

So now you're saying it's the meds that are causing your weight gain? I see how my mom struggles to get her breath, and how her "rough time breathing" keeps her from doing so many things she wishes she could do. I can't imagine going through that voluntarily.

I'd start charting my food intake (calories, fat, protein, etc) to see where I was, and track activity level. has your activity level gone down? are you consuming more calories than you should be?  are you eating more carbs than you used to? Are you getting in enough protein? The more information you give us to work with the more specific we help we can give.

Were you put on meds for the copd? Many drugs cause weight gain, expecially steroids.

Tracking your food, exercise, fluid intake, etc. wouldn't hurt.

I am assuming you are on meds for your copd. Many meds have undesireable side effects such as weight gain. If you go to the websute Drugs.com, you can find any meds you are taking and it will show you anything from side effects, to drug interactions, etc.

You may also want to discuss this with your doc. Maybe there is a different med you can take that will help. Take care.

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!
