I have a boat load of kids, so I like to be prepared. I am going to be having VSG surgery early in Sept, so I want to star****ching for sales on stuff now, so I can have a stocked pantry when it comes time for surgery.

Tell me about what you like for clear liquid protein, what did you eat during your clear liquid diet, what did you like, what did you hate, anything specific I should avoid.

Tell me about what you liked during your full liquid stage, any particular protein shake you really liked, and why, where to get it, any place that has good deals! Share your finds, your favorites and ideas with me!

When I was on clear liquids I drank mostly crystal light,  decaf coffee & tea,  SF popsicles, sf jello.  Also there is broth.

Full liquids I ate a lot of  cottage cheese and plain or greek yogurt with sf syrups mixed in to change the flavor and pudding.  I had a sample of banana protein shake and I added the powder in when I made SF chocolate pudding.  It was wonderful.

I understand the desire to stock up, but unfortunately what I like. You may not like, and even what you like before surgery, you may not be able to tolerate post op.

Get samples, Vitalady.com has samples of a lot of different proteins. I like the syntax Nectars. Fuzzy navel and roadside lemonade are my favorite. You can get a 13 pack sample set, to let you taste all of the flavors.

Non perishable things you might want to keep an eye out for, blender bottles. I love mine, we have several. Someone posted that walmart had them cheap, but I don't remember the exact price.

I agree with not stocking up too much...lol...I just threw out a bunch of soup and Jello I bought for my surgery over two years ago! I also drank Crystal light with unflavored protein powder from GNC. I ate quite a few Popsicles, Jello and strained soup broth early on.

I love my Magic Bullet and use Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 from GNC...chocolate flavor. I hated Muscle Milk but a lot of people love it....blech! I also enjoy Unjury...I just ordered Chocolate Splendor and I loved it. It mixed up very well in a blender bottle with milk and I travel with it. Hated protein bullets....Puke and gag!!

I agree also that VitaLady has lots of samples and she's a great person to order from as well! GNC is not cheap. Unjury is not too bad and they have sample sizes, that's what I travel with. Keep us posted!    Connie

Really, you don't need to 'stock up' at all.  If you don't get it from your surgeon, buy enough protein poweder to last your first two weeks, which isn't all that much.  Your third and fourth week are semi-solid proteins like yogurt and cottage cheese, etc, which you wouldn't buy now anyway.  Also remember, your volume is going to be greatly reduced!  So be careful of the feeling of the need to stock up.

Good luck!
