Drinking Liquids but not Peeing: Is this normal?
Hi friends,
So I have been trying diligently to get in at least 64 ounces of water each day. This is way more liquid than I took in pre-op. But I have only been peeing once or twice a day. Is this normal? Pre-op if I had drank that much fluid I'd be in the bathroom every two hours.
Has anyone else had this experience? Any explanations?

No. If you are actually getting in that much fluid you should be peeing more than twice a day (unless you are REALLY good at holding it for a long time, lol).
I'd call my surgeon/nurse/whatever tomorrow morning if it were me. At least run it by them - maybe it's more normal than it seems.
And of course if you start to have any abdominal pain get to the ER.
ETA: Just saw how early out you are - your body may be just adjusting, still. But I think it would be a good idea to give your doc a call tomorrow anyway. You may be retaining fluids to the point that they want you to take something. Take care of yourself=)

And ARE you getting in 64 ounces a day? There is a difference in "trying diligently" and actually drinking 64 oz a day/
If you are dehydrated and NOT getting in 64 oz a day,you body might be using a lot of what you are putting in and there is not enough left to pee out. I would MAKE SURE I am getting in 64 oz a day before I worried.
