question on B 50 complex
I threw away the 3 different B Complex sublinguals I tried. Nasty! My husband thought I was trying to poison him! :)
Honestly the capsules were the best thing I found. I didn't taste the powder cause they are in a capsule. You aren't opening them are you?
I agree with Bearmom, chances of liquid or chewable tasting like anything but ass are slim to none!
sorry, Judi

Yes I have to open them because it's so soon after surgery. They don't want me swallowing whole pills until I start the real food stage. That's why I'm having trouble. I've been tempted to try the pills whole, but scared in case it gets stuck or something. Also they have me on B50 complex which is different (more potent) than B complex so I think the taste is even stronger.
This morning, I put the powder (there is a lot) into greek yogurt with crystal light and stevia to try and overpower the flavor. Lets just say i got it down which is the main thing.
If I swallow the capsule whole, won't it just sit there due to a lack of stomach acid or will it disolve in liquid I drink. Maybe I'll stick on in a glass of water and seewhat happens.

stick it in a glass of water, I'm pretty sure it will dissolve. I know someone who had problems with pills getting stuck in her esophagus (sp). She switched to all capsules and never had another problem.
yuck, no wonder you are gagging. B vitamins are the worst!
alternatively, as long as you are doing a B12 sublingual and aren't puking a lot, the world probably wouldn't end if you waited a month to do the b50. People who vomit a lot can go low in B1 which is in your B50. You could check with your surgeon.
good luck!

Talk to Vitalady about this, but I *think* the only B vitamin you really need as a sublingual is B-12. The B50 complex does and always will taste like roadkill, and I tend to burp the taste for a couple of hours, too.
But here's something they don't tell you---you can get by without vitamins for a month or so after surgery, unless you're already critically low on something. Give yourself a little while to heal, if swallowing those capsules gives you pain.

Yeah, I was ok but a little low on Vita D. Maybe that's the one I'll try tomorrow. If it sucks I'll leave it until better healed. The B12 is easy. I get the one at Trader Joe's and it tastes fine. The iron I get is BA passionfruit and it was surprisingly good.
I've ordered cacium chews from Bariatric Advantage and I'm getting ticked off because it was ordered last Friday and it still hasn't shipped. Is this normal? Assuming you have ever ordered from them?
Oh but I definately need B50 sooner or later. It's on the list (bypass only) at the docs office.
