Need a swim suit, need advice!

My husband and I are going on an overnight trip to a local couples retreat, it will be our first time away since our two year old was born.

There is a pool in the room, but we are also able to use all of the indoor facilities on the day of checkout, so we are going to hang out by the pool for a bit.

Problem is, I don't own a bathing suit that is fit to be seen in public. All of our local stores are no longer carrying suits (they have all gone over to fall stuff!), so I was going to mail order one but don't know what size to get. The one's I have are all 22's and are HUGE, I am currently in a 16/18 (mostly 16's) but even the 16's in some cases are getting big so I might need a 14 by October.

Since I am mail ordering them, I won't be able to try them on until they get here. I was thinking of ordering the same suit in 18, 16 and 14 and returning the two that don't fit. Am I nuts? What would you do?

Thanks, I am totally excited to get away, even if it's just for a night. With five kids at home, this is a rare pleasure and I intend to enjoy every moment! LOL

I'm an avid pool groupie as I do aqua aerobics three times a week at our local Y. I've found LandsEnd tugless tanks to the BEST around. They fit pretty true to size - I'd order a 16 (don't do the underwire, it fits weird) since that is your current size. If you go down a size, it will still work as they fit snugly. Hope this helps - you should be able to find some incredible deals on swimsuits, too. Buy a fun color...you've worked hard to earn that body!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for suggesting Lands End, I got the cutest suit for only $14!!! It was cheap enough that I ordered it from an 18 to a 12! LOL I figure the 12 will probably fit me next summer, and for that price it is worth it to order ahead! I will probably end up sending the 18 back, but sometimes its hard to accept that I am not that big anymore and I have a panic that the 16 could not possibly fit me. My head really needs to catch up LOL

You do not even have to bother shipping back.  Just return at any Sears store.

I think I need a 2 piece swim suit.....no way I can get all this skin into a 1 piece. LOL
I really don't have an answer, but the thought ran immediately into my mind about the skin. I do have extra if you need some.
Enjoy your trip. Maybe you can borrow a suit from a close friend ????? Try GOODWILL. They may have something stuck in the back.

Thanks for the advice! I am a Goodwill junky, I never even thought to go there for a suit!

Oh and I don't need any extra skin, after having triplets and another little guy two years ago, I have all the extra I need!

Lands End suits are very good quality. They have phone and online chat people who will help you to make your choice. If the suit does not work out, you can return it a local Sear's store. You will really like their swim separates. Swimsuits are on sale now and up to 65% off.
