1 month update!!! -40#
hey friends! well i had my one month check up with my surgeon today! I've lost 38 pounds since my weigh in before surgery. 40 pounds total from my highest weight. my BMI went from a 55 to a 48! ive had no nausea, only thrown up once the whole experience. the nexium has helped my acid reflux. on sunday, i tripped at the movies and fell. i fell sideways on my foot and heard something crack and couldnt walk on it. i went to the ER to get it xrayed and they said there was too much swelling to tell anything. so today when i went for my checkup w/ my WLS surgeon he was very worried about it. he said i could get a blood clot in my leg and he needed to know if it was broken. so he put me on lovenox for 3 weeks and sent me to the orthopedic dr for a CT scan. i go back friday to find out if its broken or not. i sure hope its not because today he gave me clearance to life weights and swim etc. having a cast would not be fun. so im kinda bummed about it! i can eat anything i want now, i just have to chew good. the NUT told me to try new things every day. so im just having trouble getting in my protein still. and i need ideas of what to eat. i see my surgeon again in 2 months. they said id lose another 30-40 pounds by then. and also said that ive done better than the average for how much ive lost already. pray that my foot is not broken! im ready to exercise! have a good night OH :-)

So sorry about your foot, I hope it's not broken and it gets better soon. You are doing so good. I go for my 1 month check-up on the 29th. Tuna is great for protein. I'm eating alot of seafood, get good protein. I also eat canned chicken that has good protein also. I know beef jerky has alot of protein in it to. DOn't know if you cleared for that. ALso there is something called PB2 its powered peanuts if you mix with water I heard it's like peanut butter without the fat and calories, I'll be trying it soon. Good luck. Kerry

thanks girl! i hope so too! good luck w/ your 1 month checkup! how much have you lost? i havent tried canned tuna or chicken yet but thats a great idea! beef jerky sounds good too if i can tolerate it! i havent heard of PB2..where can you get it from? sounds yummy! let me know how it tastes. good luck to you too :-)
