Calcium Citrate question
Is there any calcium citrate pills available that have 500mg per pill (not 2x 250mg) I'm not talking about the vile chewable pills. Just a single 500mg pill. I'm thinking not because all the ones I've seen require two pills per serving and going by the chewables, I guess it's because a single pill would not be swallowable.
Just wondered if anyone else had found them. I can only swallow one pill at a time (size doesn't matter within reason) and I just wanted to cut the number of pills I take a day if I can. Right now I take 6 citrate pills a day (2x3) and I'd just like to be able to cut it down to 3 a day even though they'd be bigger. Right now, I alternate them with the candy like chews from BA which are fine but expensive and I'd get fed up with them every day anyway.
If not, has anyone tried vitalady's BA lozenges? What flavor? They sound like a good idea as long as they don't taste like the BA cinnamon chewables pills. I'm going to have to throw those out because they make me gag. How they made it past the test market, I don't know.

I ADORE the Celebrate ENS --
"ENS (Essential Nutrient System) shake contains a high potency multivitamin, 500 mg of calcium citrate, and 25 g of whey isolate protein in each serving. Our integrated formula provides maximum solubility and ensures that the vitamins and minerals are readily bioavailable. This product is the best option for patients immediately following surgery."
They've also got the chewable (I know you don't want this...) 500 mg.
500 mg swallowable would be HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

That may be a good idea. I think you are right about the size of a 500mg. I almost fainted when I saw the size of the BA chewables. I wasn't sure which oriface it was supposed to go in!
But god, how people chew them I don't know. I could change the flavor, but the texture is no better. It's like sticking a teaspoon of fine sand in your mouth. It sucks all the moisture out and you can't swallow the powder. It gets stuck in your teeth. Just awful. What a waste of $$$$

I don't think so because of how big the pill would have to be. Could you swallow a pill twice the size of the calcium citrate pills you take now?
Have you tried Upcal D? It's a powder and you can mix it in any drink and it has no taste. I think it's pretty affordable, too.

OMG! I am with you on the chewable cinnamon, but have you tried BA Wild Berry muiti crystals.....THEY ARE AWESOME. AND, THEY HAVE 500MG OF CALCIUM CITRATE TOO! So you mix the crystals in your water just like you do crystal light and it is really good. You get your multi and your calcium all at one time. I have been ordering from MyBariatricPantry.com because they were cheaper and faster, but they also give a free sample with all orders. They had the crystals on as a free sample one time when I ordered and I was so shocked when I tried it. It was the answer to my prayers!!! Hope this helps you! Good luck!
I use the calcium citrate capsules from vitalady. The capsule shape is far easier to swallow than the typical calcium citrate pill, although about the same size. DAVE
