Let's hear it for the over-the-top, pro-DS posts, because they've saved a lot of lives! F the docs and others who don't want to hear it. We're living proof it works and I'm glad people on here posted enough to get us to see the light.

Just FYI, because you're new here - and may not get the ethos of this board:

You are NOT going to get answers to questions like this, because YOU need to find this information for yourself - it is all OVER this site.  Why should someone take the time to answer a question like this on a site like this?  If you can't do rudimentary reading to find this information out for yourself, you are already in a boatload of trouble if you are contemplating rearranging your guts and needing to take proactive action to take care of and advocate for yourself for the rest of your life.

However, because I am feeling benevolent and enjoying the speed of my internet access now that I'm properly hooked up to a LAN line and have a newly reformatted laptop, here is a place to start: http://www.dssurgery.com/procedures/compare-surgical-procedu res.php?subnav=2

And another: http://www.paclap.com/downloads/comparing-options-for-WLS.pd f - with pictures: http://www.paclap.com/weight-loss-surgery/surgical-weight-lo ss.cfm

As you noticed I am new here.  I had RNY a year ago, and was asked yesterday on a bipolar forum if I had DS.  I had not heard of it and wanted to know what the difference was.  That person said that there is a lot of support on this site for people that have had gastric surgery.  I have been trying to get the lay of the site and see if it is as helpful to me as it is to her. I find your response very RUDE and insulting.

Hopefully I will not find others respond in the same way.

Prepare for disappointment then.  The information about the surgeries is right here.  If you can't read what is already written, why should we bother to REwrite it for you?  Lazy much?

Was there a thank you in there?  No?  Really?  Well, don't worry, you won't be getting any further help from me.

Go to the RNY forum.  It is a lot less rude and forceful.
Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I got older.

Less rude?  You don't think that entering a site and demanding that others REWRITE, just for you, what can be found by pushing a couple of buttons is rude?  Then I'll just block two morons at once.
