It's great?

I thought you were married to a jealous, oppressive *******

Which is it?

I have a bar to take you to. I meet my girlfriends there regularly now. It's called Skep and Skein, and yes, it is a knitting bar. The guys don't even WANT to go with us there, lol.

They have some interesting stuff like meads and ciders in addition to a zillion beers and wines, and are a regular gathering spot for knitters and other groups of crafters. It was started by a woman who loves to knit and crochet, and loves a good ale.

If the OP's destination was so innocent, would her DH be so angry?

I don't know.,

I wish her the best of luck.

I'm sure it's not so innocent, and that is why he is unhappy about it. I've seen friends ruin marriages and break up the homes of their children with exactly this scenario, so I'm being more careful picking the places I go when it's just the girls.

I have never tasted ale or mead.  putting that on my bucket list.  I don't like beer, if that matters. but the only beer I've tried is boring old Miller, etc. I know there are lots more out there.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I'm not a fan of beer, or wine either, unless it's sweet and tastes like juice.

Some meade is like sipping honey/alcohol. I'm also a fan of pear and apple ciders now. Like I need more high calorie things that I can't live without.

"You are a married woman.  You should not be going out to play.  "

Oh,  bull****

Even if she is going out dancing as her play, there is no law that says married people shouldn't do this. Every marriage is unique and it's up to the couple to define what that means and what is and isn't allowed.

I go out and "play" all the time and I've been married for 22+ years. DH is quite welcome to come with me but mostly doesn't want to. If he told me I wasn't "allowed" to have fun with my friends just because he wasn't willing to come along, then THAT would break up our marriage, not that we each have interests the other doesn't share.

Invite him along, or call a few times, text, or even pic messages.  Then love him like the dickens when you get back.......
