Ouch, 2 c-sections. Sounds painful!

I haven't had a c-sec or the RNY but I'm sure those who have will chime in soon.

I had a lap RNY. IT was not as painful as my c-section. Did not take as long for my intestines to wake up.  However it is taking longer to get my energy back. I did have the up and down incision for my C-section and I understand those are more painful than the bikini cut.  Still RNY was easier.

I'm sure an Open RNY is different.  Is yours planned as a lap surgery?

no  it is a planned open surgery.   They are going to do some repair work while they are in there.  lol
I told them when in doubt  take it out!!

I also had a classical  and a bikini cut ( bikini not being done when I had the first)

I am going to make a pillow to take to brace myself with  when I stand or cough  ( I remember the pain of sneezing!!!)  and I will use it for the ride home.

I can also remember the first time I got out of bed it felt like my stomach hit the floor and bounched back up at me.

What is scaring me is that I am 30yrs older now!   and I hate to take pain meds!  I hate the fuzzy feeling!

Wow listen to me whine!!!  Sorry!!!  I am just getting nervous  about this   I wish I could fast forward the next 2 weeks

I've had two c sections and an open ds. The difference is my ds was horizontal above my belly button. Yours will probably will vertical. Personally, I think vertical would be harder to recover from. My blog I wrote how the pain was worse than the sections and defintely more work so harder to recover from. But you can do it. !! Good luck.

Good Luck!!! So my words of wisdom...... First of all, I RNY done. I too had a c-section as well. The RNY was NOTHING compared to the RNY. Although the energy was very different, I contribute that to the liquid diet the two weeks before though. As for everything else just take it day by day!!! Sleep when you can, and rest!!! You will do great! Best decesion ever!!
