I've been struggling getting all the protein in. My surgery is Tuesday. I haven't found a protein drink/mix I'm happy with. We all have different tastes but what works for you? I have Unjury and I can barely get the chocolate down. I am waiting for samples to come in from Nectar syntrax and Isopure drinks. I would love to find a fruity drink that doesn't have that protein smell and taste! Also, have any of you ever done the protein shots drinks? I found some whey protein ones that are 42g protein in 3 oz, wondering if that would be a better bet for me. Feedback appreciated!!! Luvs!

Great, thanks for responding! I think Nectar may be the way for me too. Not to be nasty but so far the protein drinks I've tried all smell like baby throw up, LOL. I am super sensitive to textures and smells.

If your surgeon allows it you might want to add fresh fruit.  that will help a bit with the taste.  Something like bannas would be great!

Try drinking your protein drinks from a water bottle or covered cup.  That helps with the smell at least.

What surgery are you having? Someone mentioned fruit, if RNY do NOT try fruit which I'm hoping your surgeon would not allow.

I prefer Optimum Nutrition chocolate or vanilla. Never could handle the fruit flavors although many do. Good idea to try samples.

Good luck with your surgery and recovery.

I'm doing RNY and I haven't done the fruit because of the sugars. Thanks!

I love Optimum Nutrition as well.  I take the french vanilla, add some sugar free hot cocoa and a pack of Starbucks VIA coffee and blender ball it until mixed well and it is AWESOME!!!!! I make a big glass of it over ice and sip on it all morning. It's about 50g of protein that I take in from roughly 8:30ish until about 11:30 ish.

I love playing around with different protein drink recipes.

Yum, I'm going to have to get some more VIA iced coffee and try it with the.protein. I love the VIA (drinking my last right now actually).

 VIA is my new addiction.

BTW- My protein drink glass sits on my New Orleans Saints coaster you gave me on the Austin trip for Susan's wedding so I'm getting great use out of it.
