Depends on your doctor's plan.  My dr allowed soft fruits or pureed fruits mixed into protein drinks to make smoothies the first two months.  After that, I was cleared for all fruits.

I love syntrax nectar Choc truffle and Vanilla Bean Torte.  I've had it every morning for the last 2 1/2 years and I'm not tired of it yet.

Chike is a meal replacement drink.  More calories per helping, but the taste is very good.  Not cheap, but with protein drinks I've come to accept you get what you pay for.

My surgeon wants me to have 60 grams protein a day...I am an ounce away from 40 grams and I still have 20 to go before the night is over. I have found it hard...where do you fit in eating 6 small meals plus drinking 64 oz water and 60 grams protein...it's hard but it's right after surgery so I'm sure it will get easier as time goes by...atleast I hope!

I'm no expert at this and am presurgery trying to find something I can stomach. My presurgery drinks have been:

unflavored protien, tomato juice, worchestershire and tobasco. Make it the night before and refriderate and it seems to absorb the taste of the protien.

I've also been eating bean with bacon or pea soup, campbells. ground in a blender. Has around twentyfive grams of protien per can.

walmarts cheap vanilla protien, one carton of nofat , nosugar berry yogurt, two slices of pineapple, fill 12 grinder cup with juce from pineapple can and blend, this one you can't even taste the protien in.

I'm looking for a recipe that isn't sweet to help me make it through this liquid diet.

I've done the bean with bacon soup too! I would prefer to get my protein mostly through food since the shakes are alot to stomach. I love pineapple I might have to try that one, thanks!

Hey! I love the Nectar because it just a nice refreshment from the normal thick chocolate protein. They are VERY sweet, and Nancy says your tastes change after surgery, so I am not sure how much our tastes will change- I have the sample pack and have liked what I have gotten so far.

I really like the Atkins RTD mocha latte stuff. It only has 15g of protein in it though, but it tastes yummy like chocolate coffee. Doesnt have much sugar or carbs. You can buy a 4 pack anywhere, Giant, Walmart. Other than that, I plan on drinking the EAS Carb control chocolate and vanilla just because I have gotten to like it from my 'dieting' thoughout the years. The chocolate smells like dirt .

I hope you find something you like, but I really wouldnt rely soley on the nectar because of what Nancy said.

Hi,

Has any one tried Betty Lou's Low Glycemic Designer Protein?

I am having the same issue as Arieschick33 is.

Thanks
